I designed and made a huge crossword for the interns at IBM Research Labs, Zurich. IBM has an army of interns come to the Zurich labs and stay over the summer. My idea was to have interns each year fill their names on the grid with a different colored pen, to increase the sense of belonging at the labs.
It was an interesting experience as I had to arrange a 2m long scale, and lay out the scroll of the canvas on a billiards table to make sure the grid comes out perfect. Even a small error would magnify eventually on such a large grid!
This canvas is hanging (hopefully!) at the IBM Research Labs in Zurich.
