I wanted to experiment with how multiple people would interact and collaborate on a painting! So, I threw a party at my place and invited a bunch of ORC (operations research center, my department) folks. This painting has a lot of memories from that party, where everyone left their “mark” on this canvas – John’s ABP cup (he’s always high on coffee), Iain’s map of New Zealand with a kiwi, Nataly’s butterfly, Will’s example of the graph that shows a ratio of 4/3 for TSP, Allison’s bow, Charles’ polytope being optimized, Michael’s painted lips, David’s rim of his beer bottle, Chaitanya’s finger prints, Andrew’s symbols and what not! (I had to touch up to make it look nice!)
